This July, explore the unseen forces of the sonic sea with an evening of gentle drones. Craig Wedren and Brian Griffith are two Los Angeles musicians that met by chance and have an intense interest in the powers of improvisational music and the role sound plays in meditation and awareness of the present. Joined by fellow improvisational video artist, Zara Ruckus, the Sabbath Sessions are a chance to feel the current of the present and transcend your normal reality.
The event is taking place at the Besant Lodge in Beachwood Canyon. This historical center was the location of the Holywoodland Theosophical Society in the early 1900s and the room is filled with the magical energy of times past. We are asking for a $5 Donation to help with these series and the evening will have a few refreshments. Bring a pillow, blanket, yoga mat and candles to experience the flow of the universe through sound.

Accomplished musician and former front man for Shudder to Think, Craig Wedren creates worlds of sound for moving pictures and still thoughts, alike. A veteran of the music world, he draws upon his experience of the past to improvise on the ethereal pastures in the present. His falsetto peaks and whispered valleys intersect in a mirrored fashion that blur together, forming a constant thread that flows through his compositions.
Formerly a Chicago-dwelling Floridian, Brian Griffith now lives in Los Angeles. As a bassist, his exploration of the deep subtleties that flow through music and the world has led to an appreciation of the understated, and an understanding of the rhythmic nature of being. Focusing on loops, repetition and ambient drone, his delicate compositions are as permanent as the wind.
Colorful and enigmatic, Zara Ruckus was born out of the ashes of the rainbow phoenix. With the multi-colored light in her eyes, she has been sent forth to showcase what she has done and seen through live video manipulations. Kaleidoscopic patterns and psychedelic mandalas are weaved through a misty showcase of animated meditations and found textures. Zara Ruckus (aka Sarah Zucker) crafts looping colors of esoteric imagery with the skill only an artisan could hope to achieve.
